Hey friends, I want to tell you a story.
A few weeks ago, I found myself in my recording booth, reading lines for a voice acting job for Pray.com. The character? Elijah. The scene? 1 Kings 17—Elijah is on the run, hiding in the wilderness, waiting on God to provide.
And then, God sends ravens.
Not an angel with a feast…
Not a clear roadmap for what’s next…
Just… birds, dropping off bits of food, one day at a time.
As I spoke Elijah’s words aloud, it hit me like a freight train:
This is my life right now!
When the Provision Comes One Day at a Time
If you’ve ever been in a season of uncertainty, where you’re following God’s call but don’t know how things are going to work out… then you know how hard it is.
I do, too.
Ever since stepping into this missionary-style ministry full-time, I’ve wrestled with something I don’t like to admit:
I want control.
I want to know how things are going to work.
I want certainty.
And yet, here I am.
Doing the work I know God has called me to… teaching, discipling, mentoring, and creating resources to help people grow in their faith—while constantly praying, Okay, God… what’s next? Where’s the provision coming from this month?
Some months, it feels like abundance.
Other months, it feels like ravens.
But here’s what I’m learning: The presence of ravens means the presence of God.
God never abandoned Elijah in the wilderness. He sustained him… just in a way that required daily trust. And if I’m honest?
That’s exactly what this season of life and ministry has felt like.
Maybe you’re in a season like that, too.
Maybe you’re looking at your life right now and thinking, “God, I thought following You would be clearer than this!?”
Maybe you’re waiting for big provision, but instead, it’s just ravens—small moments of grace, one at a time.
If so, let me remind you: God sees you.
The ravens are proof.
The Work We’re Pouring Into
Even in the uncertainty, this season has been one of the most fruitful in ministry. Here’s what we’ve been investing in:
✅ The GoodLion School of Discipleship in Oklahoma – We’re walking young adults through the Sermon on the Mount, helping them engage with Jesus’ teachings in ways that deeply shape their lives.
✅ Teaching & Equipping – From theology classes on Old Testament wrath and mercy to seminars on doubt and deconstruction, we’re creating spaces where people can wrestle with faith in a meaningful way, and praying for more open doors at local colleges and churches to share these teachings!
✅ The GoodLion Podcast - We are working on a new season to help Christians of all ages learn the teachings of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.
✅ The Chosen People Podcast – Bringing biblical stories to life through writing and voice acting, reaching a wide audience with the depth and beauty of Scripture.
✅ Local Church Ministry – Serving in youth ministry, mentoring younger leaders, and helping disciple the next generation.
This is the work. This is what we feel called to give our lives to.
An Invitation to Be Part of the Story
For the last year, we’ve been in an in-between space. When I was working at CGN, my job allowed me to do work that aligned with my ministry calling, while also providing for our family. But when that season ended, we had to step into full dependence on God, trusting Him to sustain this work through a mix of donations, freelance work, and prayer.
And I’ll be honest—it’s been tough.
I want to give 100% of my time to this ministry. I want to teach, disciple, mentor, and create without constantly feeling like I have to “hustle” for income.
I also know that SO many of my missionary and bivocational minister friends are in the same boat. It’s a challenging road, but it’s one I find worthwhile and I plan on doing it for as long as Jesus wants me to.
If this ministry has impacted you, if you believe in the work we’re doing… would you consider becoming a monthly partner?
Here’s what support makes possible:
💡 It allows us to focus fully on teaching, mentoring, and discipling without financial distraction of having to take on time-consuming client work.
💡 It funds resources—podcasts, articles, seminars—that reach people far beyond Oklahoma.
💡 It enables us to expand, bringing the School of Discipleship to more young adults and churches.
Right now, we are at 20% of our goal to make this ministry sustainable.
If you’d like to be part of this, here’s the link to give.
If you can’t give financially, we also need prayers! Prayers for wisdom, provision, and faithfulness to keep walking in obedience.
Like Elijah, we’re trusting that God will provide.
Maybe, in some way, you’re part of that provision.
Thank you for walking this road with us.
Grace and peace,
Aaron & Brooklyn + Jack and Baby Girl Salvato!
